Web Design
Web design follows certain trends that become popular year on year, so there are many ways to approach the design of a website. Every designer will have a slightly different idea of what works, but ultimately we will all try to design something engaging that captures the users eye so they remain on the site to review your information and get in touch.
An important stage of any project is to gather information on what the site needs to achieve, the target audience and what they expect to see. This might be as simple as showing your services, an about section, some previous work examples, your services and a way to get in touch. Or it might require a lot more information if you supply complex products or services. Ultimately the website will need to cover the same basics no matter what content it displays.
All modern websites are now expected to be responsive, which means it will display well on desktops, laptops, tablets and mobiles. This means we need to take into account various screen sizes when showing your content and message.
Once I have the required information, I would usually (if budget allows) start with wireframing the site. This means creating a structural layout of the pages indicating where certain elements would sit positionally. This would then be presented to you for feedback and approval before any actual design takes place.
Design inspiration can be taken from websites you have seen elsewhere that you like for various reasons. It might be that you like the way a menu works on one site, or the way someone has presented some images on another. I can then use those examples to get an idea of what you like and use them as a base to create a unique design for your site.
The designs would be created using Adobe XD and presented for feedback and approval before moving onto the build stage.
